PowerSchool FAQ

1) Why do I need a PowerSchool parent portal account?
A: This portal is required for access to the InfoSnap registration process.  This replaces the "snapcode" process used last year.  The portal can also be used to check your child's attendance, newsletters, and, in grades 6-12, their grades.

2) Will I use PowerSchool to register?
A: Not exactly.  By logging into PowerSchool, you will identify who you are and who your children are, which will make the InfoSnap registration process much more seamless.

3) When will I be able to register my child for the 2018-19 school year?
A: If your child is new to South Milwaukee, you can register today using this link.  If he/she is in a South Milwaukee School now, you will see the registration link on August 1st in PowerSchool.

4) What if I don't have access to a desktop or laptop?
A: The district will provide support to families who do not have access to technology at home.  The registration process will be no more difficult than the in-person registrations of the past.  We will also hold registration dates in August where families can register in person, however registering online ahead of time will save considerable amounts of time.

5) How do I set up my Parent Portal account?
A: Using the letter that was sent home, follow the directions below.  If you misplaced your letter or never received one, please contact your child's school to obtain a Web ID and Web Password.
