Substitutes

Welcome to the School District of South Milwaukee. We appreciate your service in this demanding job. Your services are essential to the educational program of the district.

Acting as a substitute whether as a teacher, aide or secretary, can be an interesting, productive challenge. It can enhance confidence in your ability and strengthen your understanding of the learning process. It provides an opportunity to develop and refine your skills and talents.

On this website you will find the district substitute policy and procedure handbook, resource links for substitute teachers, calendar information and more.

We value the service that our substitutes provide to the district, and wish you great success!

BUILDING ENTRY

Substitutes should check in through the main office of each building, with one exception. The Middle School (Grades 6-8), and the High School (Grades 9-12), are part of the 15th Avenue Campus, connected through a main hallway.

Due to limited parking at the Middle School, all Middle School substitutes must park in the main staff lot in front of the High School (corner of 15th Avenue and the Oak Creek Parkway), and check in through the High School office (Door 9) when reporting in for the day. When substituting in the Middle School, please leave additional time for walking between the buildings.
